Overview of Services

Centralised Analytical Laboratory (CAL) is one of the service centres under the Laboratory Management Department (LMG) of Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP). It is equipped with state-of-the-art analytical instrument and provides analytical services to researchers from various organisations in the fields of green technology, solar energy, nanotechnology, electronics, environmental, oil, gas and petrochemical.

Mission : To provide an accurate and timely analytical solution with integrity and total focus on customers’ satisfaction

Aspiration : To promote research excellence by ensuring that the requested analytical services comply with international standards.

Sample Testing Request Procedure:

1. Plan your sample testing.
2. You may refer to "Service Price List" under "Request Services" tab for sample testing price list.
3. Initate request of your interest sample testing under the "Request Services" tab.
4. Fill in the form and click "submit request to core".
5. CAL will agree to service request and issue the quotation.
6. Please submit your quotation to UResearch for the grant utilisation approval.
7. CAL will assign the sample testing slot once CAL received the UResearch notification. An email notification will be sent to customers for the assigned sample testing date. Please submit your sample a day before the sample testing date.
8. Submit your sample at P-00-08 on the allocated date.

We have allocated a room at Block P, CAL, for the sample submission and result collection room. It is located at P-00-08.

        Please submit together with your samples;

1. service request quotation,
2. journals (if needed), and
3. a CD for us to copy the result for you and place all of it in a provided zipper bag.

We notify you of your samples and result collection via ULAB chat. Please take note that CAL will only retain the samples for 1 month from testing date. 

Disclaimer: CAL reserves the right to reject any service request that is not completed, sample submission over the limit and incorrect testing information.
